If you’ve ever used the Internet, it’s a good bet that you’ve used the Domain Name System (DNS) even without realizing it. It’s like a phonebook of the Internet.<\/p>\n

DNS translates domain names you type in your search bar (e.g. google.com, youtube.com, facebook.com) to IP addresses so browsers can load Internet resources.<\/p>\n

How to change your DNS settings on Windows?<\/h2>\n

Step 1<\/h3>\n

Click on Windows icon, open Control Panel<\/strong> and select View network status and tasks<\/strong>.

Step 2<\/h3>\n

Select Change adapter settings<\/strong> in the left sidebar.

Step 3<\/h3>\n

Right-click on the Internet connection that you use (Ethernet or Wi-Fi) and select Properties<\/strong> in the pop up menu.

Step 4<\/h3>\n

First, disable Internet Protocol Version 6<\/strong> (TCP\/IPv6).
\nSecond, select the point Internet Protocol Version 4<\/strong>\u00a0(TCP\/IPv4) and click on Properties<\/strong>.

Step 5<\/h3>\n

Select the point Use the following DNS addresses<\/strong> and enter the DNS addresses (scroll down to see the recommended DNS servers) in the fields Preferred DNS server<\/strong> and Alternative DNS server<\/strong>.
\nNow click on OK button to\u00a0save changes.
